Having fun with Ian

October 19, 2009 by clintandmarie

Ian loves to play outside, and we’ve been having lots of fun. He learned how to work the reel last week. He also loves to go fly his kite, but lets go of the string every time and makes me chase it down.

Yes, Ian is barefoot. It’s OK, his feet won’t hurt the floor.

Reviewed Ian’s bloodwork today and noticed he has an elevated hematocrit level, just like me. Looks like I have a future training partner. Now I have to actually train!

New shoes (sort of)

September 10, 2009 by clintandmarie

After a couple of years of foot pain I gave up on running shoes. That’s right, after various day glow orange and line green fashion statements, I’ve finally decided to try the Vibram Five Fingers: http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/

Thoughts so far:

They take half a minute off your mile at first. I haven’t been running anyway, so who cares!

Feel really good. No foot pain so far, but I’m still low miles.

Feel like a freak wearing them, but why should that bother me?

Do get a little slippery inside from sweat.
